The Genesis HospiceCare team provides care for terminally ill patient in his or her place of residence. Each and every aspect of death and dying is respected by the hospice team. The patient is encouraged to maintain control over decisions and prepare for death in his or her own personal way. The primary goal of hospice care is dignity in dying through pain management, symptom relief, and emotional support, thus allowing the patient to live as fully and comfortably as possible.
Not everyone is a candidate for hospice care. Hospice services are available for patients who have a life expectancy of six months or less and have agreed to focus on palliative treatments rather that curative treatments. Genesis HospiceCare accepts patients of any ethnic background, age, faith system, or financial status.
